Mental Health Support Contact

Mental Health Support Contact

University of Lincoln staff can opt-in to nominate a Mental Health Support Contact, giving the University permission to involve a third party, such as a family member, friend, colleague or support worker if there are significant concerns for their mental health and wellbeing.

Individuals may not feel able to take the initiative to seek out assistance during times of mental ill health. The support contact encourages employees to nominate a trusted person to be contacted if there are concerns about the individual’s mental wellbeing. The support contact will be signposted to external assistance and guidance from Mind.

To nominate a Mental Health Support Contact, log into MyView, click on ‘My Information’, ‘My Emergency Contacts’ and then ‘Add Contact’. The contact does not need to be the same person identified as the emergency contact.

All staff members, not only those with known or diagnosed mental health issues, are encouraged to nominate a Mental Health Support Contact.
